Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?

It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the online adoption application.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!

Hi my name is Tootsie and I am looking for my forever home. I am currently staying with my foster mom and she says I am an absolute dream. When I first came to the shelter I was devastated. I knew that being so old it was unlikely that anybody would want me, but my foster mom thought I was worth saving. If I stay too long, she is worried she may fall in love with me.
I may be an older girl, approximately 9 and only 9 lbs, but I still have a lot of spunk left in me. I walk well on a leash and pep up as soon as it is time to take a walk. I’m a little shy at first and bigger animals intimidate me, but once I feel comfortable, I am more willing to walk amongst them. I co-exist well with cats, dogs and even bunnies, but overly rambunctious animals scare me. Often times, if something scares me, I will simply sit in the corner and wait for you to notice I am missing. My very favorite thing to do is cuddle with my human. I love to help out with chores…ok, I don’t do much but I love to follow my humans around as they work. 
I am well-mannered and my foster mom says she can tell I was once a very loved companion and she isn’t sure what circumstances resulted in me wandering around as a stray. I am house trained and would love to find my forever home.
