APPLY TO ADOPT
Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?

It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the
online adoption application.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!

Michael was found in a shopping center, neglected, exhausted and injured. He was turned in to Contra Costa Animal Services where he remained unclaimed and unwanted until his time was up. But since he stepped with his pudgy paws through our doors he has found his happy and hasn't looked back!
He is a very sweet and affectionate dog, his tail wags non-stop and he's so grateful for love. He is kind toward other dogs, just gets annoyed by very energetic tiny ones. Michael is too interested in cats and will need a home without any.
He's ~62 lbs (needs to be less) and we think he's ~7 years old. He is fine home alone but also loves to get to go.

Michael came to us extremely obese, a result of an untreated thyroid issue. He needs to continue on thyroid medication for life (inexpensive). Our wonder dog has been shedding pounds right and left and is feeling so much better. He goes on short hikes with his foster parents and loves to play with people and dogs in the park. We can't wait to see how well he does when he's at a normal weight!
Truly, to know Michael is to love Michael.
