APPLY TO ADOPT
Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?

It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the
online adoption application.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!

CANINE RECLUSE SEEKS SAME IN HUMAN FORM...
Hi, I'm Daisy. I'm a 6-7 year old, 42 lb. buddle of love.
To be honest, I have a bit of a dark past. I'm not ready to share it with you and I don't want to dwell on it, but as a result I have some interesting, shall we say "quirks"...
First, I don't like being outdoors...WAIT! Hold the phone... as of last week I have come outside on my own to potty and hang out and after some time pacing, I calm down. I'm finding it's really not so bad! I'm still not excited about walks, but my foster takes me on short little treks down the alley and back. Honestly, you really DON'T need to walk me around the block or a hiking path... right now I don't even want to THINK about going on walks, well, I say that now, but next week I might feel differently...
Second, I really love affection. I'm so comfortable being in the same space as my person and being loved and talked to and petted. I almost wish I was a cat!
Third, I would probably do best with one to two people who are pretty dog savvy and work from home or are retired so that we have a lot of time together. And although I do well with kids, maybe "visiting kids" rather than "live-in" kids. I am very accepting of people and kids and will come over and kiss them, but I'm still a little jumpy around all that beautiful kid energy on a constant basis. I think maybe I want to be a little bit of a star in the home :) ... Just trying to be honest about who I am...
In return for love, patience and understanding, I will bring you to happy tears when you notice growth in me. For example, I usually hang in a corner of one room. It's my "safe place". The other night though, I pushed my bed out of the corner into the doorway of my foster's bedroom and fell asleep on my back, legs in the air, completely relaxed! Well, you'd think I'd learned to speak French, my foster was so happy to find me that way in the wee hours of the morning she woke me up out of a dead sleep to tell me how great I was! And now I go outside! And I'm learning to be in a crate! And, and, and...
I may not be perfect (I hear nobody is!) and all I really want is some love and affection and the opportunity to love you right back. If you think I might be a good fit for you, fill out an application and let's meet!
P.S. My foster says I'm not very photogenic, but if you meet me in person, you'll fall in love with my deep brown eyes and loving personality. I hope we get to meet soon ❤️
