Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?

It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the
online adoption application.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!

Hi, I'm Daisy. I'm a 6-7 year old, 42 lb. buddle of love.
To be honest, I have a bit of a dark past. I'm not ready to share it with you and I don't want to dwell on it, but as a result I have some interesting, shall we say "quirks"...
First, I don't like being outdoors. I have my reasons, but let's just say we've been working on this, and although I still have SOME resistance, I AM going out to potty and run around the yard (my foster calls it "exercise"). The good news is, you don't need to walk me around the block or a hiking path... honestly, I don't even want to THINK about going on walks. Again, "recluse seeking recluse"...
Second, I'm really just more comfortable being in the same space as you and being loved and talked to. I love being talked to and petted. I almost wish I was a cat!
Third, I would probably do best with one to two people who are pretty dog savvy and work from home or are retired so that we have a lot of time together. And although I do well with kids, maybe "visiting kids" rather than "live-in" kids. I am very accepting of people and kids and will come over and kiss them, but I'm still a little jumpy around all that beautiful kid energy on a constant basis. I think maybe I want to be a little bit of a star in the home :) ... Just trying to be honest about who I am...
In return for love, patience and understanding, I will bring you to happy tears when you notice growth in me. For example, I usually hang in a corner of one room. It's my "safe place". The other night though, I pushed my bed out of the corner into the doorway of my foster's bedroom and fell asleep on my back, legs in the air, completely relaxed! Well, you'd think I'd learned to speak French, my foster was so happy to find me that way in the wee hours of the morning she woke me up out of a dead sleep to tell me how great I was!
I may not be perfect (I hear nobody is!) and all I really want is some love and affection and the opportunity to love you right back. If you think I might be a good fit for you, fill out an application and let's meet!”
